The Opportunity:

As we continue to expand and disrupt the market, we are seeking a highly skilled, creative Product Designer to join our growing design team. This role presents a unique opportunity to help build a state of the art product that will make its mark in the procurement world.  Reporting to the Manager Engineering, you will be part of a collaborative design team playing a key role in shaping PayShepherd’s success.

Your Responsibilities will involve:

User Research and Analysis:
  • Conduct user research to understand user needs, preferences, and pain points.
  • Analyze user feedback, behavior data, and market trends to inform design decisions.
  • Utilize various research methods such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, and analytics tools.
UI/UX Design:
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate product concepts and functionality.
  • Create user flows, journey maps, and information architectures to optimize the user experience.
  • Ensure designs align with brand guidelines and maintain consistency across all platforms and devices.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and constraints.
  • Present design concepts and rationale to cross-functional teams and stakeholders, and incorporate feedback into iterative design cycles.
  • Effectively communicate design decisions, trade-offs, and recommendations based on user research and best practices.
Interaction Design and Prototyping:
  • Design intuitive and interactive user interfaces that facilitate user engagement and task completion.
  • Create interactive prototypes using tools such as Figma or similar software.
  • Conduct usability testing on prototypes to gather feedback and iterate on designs.
Continuous Learning and Improvement:
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX/UI design.
  • Seek feedback from peers and mentors to enhance design skills and knowledge.
  • Actively participate in design critiques, workshops, and training sessions to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in UI/UX design for web and mobile applications.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma or similar software.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing your design process, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and rationale.
  • Experience working in an agile development environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is desirable but not required.
