Compensation: 
  • Base salary

Expected Performance:
  • PayShepherd’s deals are mid-7 figures.
  • At 3x - 5x above plan, compensation could be in the high six figures
  • Ability to travel required

Who is PayShepherd?

PayShepherd solves a massive problem for heavy industry (ie. mining, shipbuilding, forest products, pharmaceuticals, steel, chemicals, manufacturing, energy… etc) in the area of Vendor Relationship Management. Every year, heavy industry worldwide overspends 15% - 20% on their vendors as a result of nascent or non-existant vendor relationship management systems; we’re talking trillions of dollars in losses per year. This problem can’t be solved by humans because of the sheer number of complex transactions and the pace of the work. Supply chain issues, a labor shortage, high inflation and an energy crisis are compounding these losses greatly. These global industrial companies need to link organizational objectives set at the top, all the way to the person turning the wrench on the ground. This is why we created PayShepherd. We have closed a meaningful venture financing round, are growing very fast and are now ready for 100x.

About the role: 

We’re hiring for an experienced Sales Director,  Large Enterprise Accounts (aka a Mega-Dealer) to join our sales team. You’ll work with a wide range of prospective clients in heavy industry to earn their business. This role is an individual contributor role reporting to the VP Growth, and will have a pivotal role in our organization that directly impacts our top line revenue expansion.

You will:

  • Work with internal demand generation team to engage and follow up on active leads and opportunities
  • Reach out to and establish meaningful dialogue with prospective customer executives through creative outreach techniques (because executives rarely respond to cold emails).
  • Perform intensive research including analyzing quarterly/annual reports and other media to glean insights into C-suite priorities and challenges.
  • Use your fluency in executive language with numbers, financial ratios, operational metrics, timelines and outcomes to position the PayShepherd solution and communicate value to prospective customer executives.
  • Lead the complex buying process using attunement and empathy as well as deep problem solving skills.
  • Use project management and delegation skills to leverage a multi-disciplinary team to manage strategic sales cycles that require multiple work streams with various customer stakeholder types and internal deal team members simultaneously.
  • Use your advanced abilities to steward a process of analysis and interpretation of the outcomes of process change through implementation of our technology to communicate the value proposition of the Payshepherd solution on the customer’s business results in a given line of business or across the enterprise.

You check these boxes:

  • 10+ years of experience in software sales selling a B2B software solution
  • 5+ years of experience selling to large enterprise customers, preferably in heavy industry
  • Experience in selling in Fintech to key ICP
  • A management consulting mindset/background is preferred
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English.  French or Spanish a significant plus
  • You have the ability to create a compelling vision by using well-prepared arguments and and formal influencing strategies
  • Experience operating in a fast paced, high energy, high dollar deal environment 
  • You aren’t expecting a “how to do your job” playbook
  • You have an experimentation and optimization mindset
  • You have a deep, practical knowledge and experience with sales persuasion and negotiation techniques
  • You are an intelligent, thoughtful and balanced strategic risk taker
  • You are comfortable with a collaborative selling environment and focused interaction with internal subject matter experts to address client and prospect needs. 
  • You are motivated to achieve your goals while maintaining a collaborative, internal approach.
  • You have the ability to develop strong, mutually beneficial relationships that generate trust and ensure client satisfaction
  • You enjoy being part of a fun and supportive team 

Bonus points:

  • You have full business proficiency in French (and/or Spanish)
  • You have a Bachelor's degree in business or engineering program
  • You have a Master’s degree in business administration (MBA)
  • Domain knowledge in the industrial and manufacturing sectors
